The Port of Hastings is a significant regional port, situated close to Melbourne's eastern growth corridor on the north west reaches of Westernport Bay.  It is bound by the Mornington Peninsula, French Island and Phillip Island and has naturally deep water access to shipping berths.

The port has a number of commercial wharves and jetties.  The channels and the port waters are managed by the Port Operator Patrick Ports Hastings under a Port Management Agreement  with the State Government of Victoria, administrated through the Port of Hastings Corporation (PoHC).

The piers and wharves that make up the Port of Hastings include:

  • Long Island Point Jetty
  • BlueScope Steel Wharves (owned and operated by BlueScope)
  • Crib Point Jetty
  • Stony Point Jetty

The port handles commercial cargoes including crude oil, LPG, Steel and automotive fuels.  The Stony Point facilities provide moorings for harbour service vessels, harbour tugs, line boats and port maintenance floating plant.  Harbour Control, Port Administration and Maintenance are also located at Stony Point.

Important anchorages also serve the oil exploration industry as a safe haven for rigs that require repair or a short term stay between operations.
