The WILpower Management Program Recruitment Process

The WILpower recruitment process consists of five stages. The process will give you a greater understanding of the work that we undertake, our operational structure and the culture that defines who we are.

Importantly, this recruitment process provides Patrick with an opportunity to assess how you fit into the business and provides you with an opportunity to evaluate whether Patrick is the right fit for you.

Here is what you can expect:

Stage 1 – Application

The stage of our process is the application stage. We request that candidates provide a maximum 200-word response to each of the following questions in your cover letter:

  1. Please explain why you feel you are a great candidate for this program.
  2. What do you believe is the main challenge that you will face while undertaking this program?

From here, we will review the applications and shortlist the candidates against specific criteria to determine the applicants who are best suited to the roles.

Stage 2 – Aptitude Testing

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in online aptitude testing, that can be completed at a time and place convenient for you. The aptitude tests are designed to assess a range of skills, including time management, critical thinking, multi-tasking and employee behaviour.

Stage 3 – On-Site Assessment

Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to attend an on-site interview, where they will have a chance to meet key operational team members and gain a more thorough understanding of both Patrick’s operations and the WILpower program.

In these sessions, candidates will be assessed on a range of skills, including problem solving, resilience, presentation and overall suitability for the role.

Stage 4 – Follow up Interviews

Following the on-site interview, successful candidates will be invited back for a final follow up interview with site management. This will be an informal discussion to get a better understanding of you, your ambitions and understand how you would fit into the Patrick team.

Stage 5 – Pre-employment and Reference Checks

The successful candidates will be required to complete pre-employment checks, which include police checks, medical tests and two reference checks. Candidates will also be required to provide proof of their rights to work in Australia.
